Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 美術學系 === 97 === This research examined how the family photograph shows the passage of family contexture and how it funtions as commemoration. At first, people devoted their ancestors at home by a portrait. The invention of the photography brings the painting technique of portrait to the consciousness of light and darkness, and, by photography, the lives have the chance to keep their own images. In most of the family photographs in the early years of Taiwan, the familes array by the age:the elder in the precedence, the women beside, the men queue up at the back, and the children at the front. Today, The people no longer respect this rules in their family photographs. Because of most people live in a nuclear family and affect to individualism, when taking picture, they care about the emotion more then the order of the group. People collect the photos into the photobooks to keep the memory. In fact, the photobooks only in the function of reminding. All the memories are kept in our internality.
