This issue is essential for Taiwan’s trade-depended economy. This research is to seek the opportunities for merchant ships in reducing fuel consumption and emissions without sacrificing operating performance. Currently applied measures and technologies foe energy conservation on-board ship are complied and analyzed. Background information and an overview of green-shipping issues are also developed. The result of a survey performed in this study indicated that there is a high degree of willingness for marine industry to improve energy efficiency and reduced emissions from ship. The structures of electrical energy use were established through energy audit, and measures for conservation were suggested. The experimental results indicated that paralleled capacitors can be used to enhance power factor for motor and further improve energy efficiency as a whole. Jian Hua 華 健 2009 學位論文 ; thesis 110 zh-TW
