Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 特殊教育學系碩士班 === 97 === Abstract The purpose of this research was to explore the Chinese and English narrative performance of a child with autism and the role of the autism characteristics in his English narrative performance. In-depth interviewing, observation and documentary collection were the main strategies used for data collection. Moreover, the researcher collected oral narrative samples from storybooks include wordless pictures. The result shows there are no difference on the Chinese and English narrative performance of the child with autism. As compared to a typically developing child, there is significant difference in the syntactic ability and story structure between the two children.
