Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 語文與創作學系碩士班 === 97 === The living condition of the primitive tribe is quite backward, but their spirit is more content than that of the modern people, they also have fewer lost and vacant feelings. ”Myth”, the method to inherit the spirit of life in the primitive tribe, lets their mind momentarily retrace the root of life and nature, and maintains their contact with the eternal world. Myth is actually by no means a celestial story, but it is human own story. The subject, which presents in the myth of human various nationalities, really doesn’t express the order and sentiment of the celestial world, but transmits the human own situation by the symbolic mark of primitive image, as well as their existent views on the nature and the universe. The purpose of the myth is to make our relation with the society and the nature more intimate and harmonious, and to learn how human collective unconsciousness utilizing the natural image to do for the symbol enables the community to enter the unconscious world from the conscious world. This paper takes the “Archetype” theory as a foundation, and uses the “archetypal criticism” as the research method to analyze “The Crown of the Hero". The purposes are to find out the symbolic significance from the scene, the character and the plot of the novel, and to integrate the scene, the character and the plot into each kind of archetype to do the research, expecting to explain the archetypal pattern of the novel, to find the new orientation for the female character, and to give the reader some different meanings and inspirations, even more we may discover the literary creation about surmounting the archetype from the author’s creative writing. The findings are divided into three parts: First, through the archetypal pattern, we see the intercommunity and the intercommunion of human mind, and we also see the permanence and the universality of human nature, therefore the reproduction of archetype in literary work is not only the repetition of fixed literature content in pattern frame, but also the representation of intercommunion and intercommunity in human psychologically emotional activities. Second, what the feminine hero pursues is independence, but not autarchy, the female proved their ability is to strive for the equal opportunity of performance. Independency, equality, the condition of not limited and without the frame, facilitates perfection under the par agenesis of both sexes. The part controlled by feminine strength must have non-dualistic and tolerant specialty, that just the way of female herself by making good use of their congenital nature. Third, all the creations of successful writers are to precede the creative breakthrough against the original archetype, which is established by usage. The excellence of writers not only displays in contacting with traditional archetype, and not only consists in how to touch the collective unconscious, but it should represent how to be restricted by the archetype and break through the archetype reasonable at the same time.
