Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 97 === Based on achievement goal theory (Nicholls, 1984, 1989; Ames, 1984, 1992) and social physique anxiety (Hart, Leary, and Rejeski, 1989), the purpose of this study was to examine the predictive effect of motivational climate, perceived ability and social physique anxiety on swimming intention and enjoyment. Participants were 604 female students (295 fifth-grade & 309 sixth-grade), aged 11.17±0.75 years, participating in 2008 swimming curriculum of physical education in several elementary schools in Chung Ho town and Yung Ho town, Taipei County. A series of Pearson product-moment correlation analyses and hierarchical multiple-regression analyses were conducted and the major findings were as follows: 1. Perceived mastery climate and perceived ability were positively related to swimming intention and enjoyment, however, social physique anxiety was negatively associated with swimming enjoyment. 2. Perceived mastery climate and perceived ability positively predicted the swimming intention and enjoyment. Finally, results are discussed based on the theoretical framework, and suggestions are made for practical application and future research directions.
