The research results will be the references of planning internship in the future. The research method was questionnaire census survey. There were two groups of subjects including the group of special education coordinators and the group of teachers (Guidance Teacher, Special Education Teacher, Internship Counselor、vocational guidance personnel)from 11 public and private vocational high schools which had special education classes in Taipei. The survey instrument was self-developed “questionnaire of off-campus internship of students in special education class in vocational high schools in Taipei.” Totally 11 questionnaires for the group of special education coordinators were distributed and 11 were gathered. The recall rate of valid questionnaires was 100%. In addition, 95 questionnaires for the group of teachers were distributed and 86 were gathered. The recall rate of valid questionnaires was 90.5%. The statistics methods which included frequency distribution, percentages, ranking and qualitative description were adopted in the data analysis. The research findings were as follows. (1)There were 90.9%of schools which had the plans of off-campus internship in Taipei. The arrangement was mainly in general workplace. (2)Off-campus internship which was arranged in one day (Wednesday or Thursday) of a week usually began from the second year of vocational high school. For the students in the first semester of the third year, two days were arranged every week. For the students in the second semester of the third year, three days were arranged each week. (3)Every school offered students at least 6 different internship workplaces. One or two students were arranged to each location. (4)The contact with internship places and the planning of off-campus internship were mainly from special education coordinators. The guidance in internship was mainly from internship counselors. (5)The highest percentage of the arrangement of internship category was food & beverage service. The second were baking and car wash service. (6)The categories which the group of special education coordinators thought they were suitable for internship were hypermarket, baking, food & beverage service and cleaning in order. The categories which the group of teachers thought they were suitable for internship were cleaning, convenience store and food & beverage service in order. (7)The employment rate of the graduates in recent three years from special education classes in vocational high schools in Taipei was above 60% and under 75%. The average employment rate was 65%. (8)The highest percentage of the difficulties of internship arrangement were insufficient manpower of the teachers and students’ personal situations(emotions, attitudes, skills and impairment level).The second highest percentage of the difficulty was the obstacle to find a proper internship place. Based on the research findings in the study, the suggestions to educational administrative institutions, vocational high schools with special education classes, parents and future study were illustrated.
