碩士 === 臺中技術學院 === 多媒體設計系碩士班 === 97 === In recent development of the technology for search engines, most researches are focused on crawling and harvesting Web page and image data. Fewer researches are on crawling and harvesting Flash movies. Although currently some offline browser utilities are capable of harvesting Flash movie components, most of these tools are offline stand-alone programs. If users want to access additional information of these components, additional tools or operations are required. This study explores approaches to integrate the various Flash movie harvesting and extracting technologies. Based on an available offline Flash movie harvester named Swiler, we develop an online Flash movie harvester prototype called Flashare. Flashare provides facilities for users to collect and parse their interested Flash movie during their web navigation. Flashare also provides visualization facilities to present users with grid of thumbnails of parsed Flash movie components and relevant information. The performance of the prototype is enhanced by the employment of web techniques such as AJAX and Memcached. The prototype is tested with extracting Flash movies online from three types of web sites. We also invite several Flash movie designers to try and use our system. Their comments and suggestions are reviewed for system adjustments or for considerations of further revisions.
