Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 體育學系碩士班 === 95 === A Study of Physical Education Attitude and Health Promotion Lifestyle of Junior High School Students in Hualien and Taitung Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in physical education attitude and health promotion lifestyle, correlations between health promotion lifestyle and physical education attitude, and the predictive power of health promotion lifestyle for exercise among junior high school students with different background variables. In this research, the population was composed of junior high school students in Hualien and Taitung. “Physical education attitude scale” and “Adolescent health promotion scale” were used as research tools. A total of 1102 students from 11 schools were selected as research subjects using stratified cluster sampling. The collected data were later processed by descriptive analysis, one-way multivariate analysis of variance, canonical correlation, and multiple regression analysis. The level of significance for all the statistic tests was fixed at .05. The major findings about the junior high school students in Hualien and Taitung were as follows: 1. They tended to have positive and active physical education attitudes. Boys were better girls, the aboriginal better than the non-aboriginal, low-grade students better than high-grade ones, and students performed better in Taitung City. No significant difference in body mass index performance was discovered. 2. They tended to have positive and active health promotion lifestyles. Girls had better interpersonal support than boys, and boys were better than girls in the aspect of exercise. Non-aboriginal students were better than aboriginal ones in the aspect of nutrition, interpersonal support, and exercise. 7th grade students outperformed 9th grade students in the aspect of exercise, health responsibility, and stress management. In the aspect of health responsibility and exercise, and students performed better in Taitung City. The overweight group performed better in exercise than the under-weight and obese groups. 3. A positive correlation existed between health promotion lifestyle and physical education attitude. Through the first canonical factor, "exercise” in the health promotion lifestyle had a higher correlation with “behavior intention” in the physical education attitude. Through the second canonical factor, “pressure management” in the health promotion lifestyle had a higher correlation with “cognitive” in the physical education attitude. Through the third canonical factor, “interpersonal support” in the health promotion lifestyle presented a higher correlation with “affective” in the physical education attitude. 4. The overall predictive power of health responsibility, behavior intention, nutrition, pressure management, and life appreciation were the predicted factors for “exercise”, the capability of predicting 50.8% variance of “exercise”.
