碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 教育學系(所) === 97 === Abstract The purpose of this study was to know the investigation of barrier-free installations in elementary school in Taitung county, and compareing the difference in barrier-free installations of outlying types elementary school, and have special education classes in the elementary school or not. Besides, we wanted to know the students who are barrier in body and mind in the barrier-free installations of need. The study adopted the ways of questionnaire investigation and interview. The research fellow adopting the form of barrier-free installations in elementary schools by checklist, and then interviewed seven people, include three students, thier parents and two class teachers. The main findings of the study were as follows: 1. In entirety, the barrier-free installations in elementary schools in Taitung county are not acceptable. For each of barrier-free installations, only the barrier-free passageway inside has the best expression. And there are five items barely satisfactory, include the ramp, the hanedrail of ramp, the gate inside, the stairs and toilet. And there are three items need to be improved immediately, include the barrier-free passageway outside, the elevator and the pay phone for physically challenged. 2.Compareing the difference in barrier-free installations of outlying types elementary schools disvovered that have a few difference among the schools in three area. Only the ramp has conspicuous difference. The barrier-free passageway outside and the elevator and the pay phone for physically challenged have some difference. The other items have no difference. 3. Compareing the difference in the elementary school that have special education classes or not. We find those two kinds of school have conspicuous difference. The barrier-free installations in the schools that have special education classes are more complete. The hanedrail of ramp has conspicuous difference. The ramp and the toilet have some difference. The other items have no difference. 4.The diffuclt of barrier-free installations in elementary school in Taitung county, include the teachers, students and their parents could’t uderstand the standard of barrier-free installations, the old school buildings, and sufficient budget.
