The study adopts the qualitative research method of purposive sampling while conducting the interviews, aiming at two respective subjects of junior high school deans of students, and full-time teachers to conduct in-depth interviews. The study conclusions are summarized as follows: I. The current teacher’s discipline conditions 1. Zero corporal punishment policy has reduced school corporal punishment, but it has not disappeared completely. 2. “Soft persuasion” and “notify the parents” have become the main new discipline strategies. 3. Before disciplining students, teachers tend to consider the multi-factors behind it such as “the gravity of wrongdoings,” “functional status of the students in the family,” “the students age,” “the motivation of wrongdoings,” “the personality traits of the students,” “ethnic group,” and “the interaction of these factors.” 4. Teachers may get carried away occasionally while disciplining the students. II. The encountering problems while disciplining the students 1. Students refuse to accept the discipline, letting teachers to feel setback. 2. No cooperation from parents, teachers are fighting the lone battle. 3. Problems of opposite sex friendship, teachers are unable to handle. 4. Zero corporal punishment is a stumbling block in teacher’s discipline. III. The copy strategies of teacher’s discipline while encountering difficulties 1.Seek assistance from discipline office or counseling office. 2.Seek assistance from community members. 3.Seek assistance from police units. Summing up the above-mentioned conclusions, we would like to propose the study as a guidance for junior high school teachers to use in disciplining students, and to serve as a reference for respective competent units, authorities and follow-up researchers.
