The research scope included the three schools in the rural areas which have the same school size and are in the similar geographic environment. The chiefs of curriculum and teaching facilities and the teachers who participate in the reading plan were interviewed. This study explored the attitude about reading of the teachers, the implement way and the difficulty of reading plan. The conclusions were drawn as follows. 1.Because of the lack of culture shock to the students in the rural areas, the teachers agree that reading can improve the learning effects to the students and the reading plan should be continued. Besides, the reading habit has not established yet, teachers also agree not to limit the reading material. 2.The reading plan need the whole school members’ support in order to build the reading atmosphere in the school. 3.The schools should plan multi reading activities. According to the result of plan, schools should adjust and amend the reading plan and goal. 4.There are not enough manpower and budget in the school in the rural areas. The schools need the education bureau and external subsidies and donation. 5.The schools in the rural areas use the reading plan and decorate the discarded spaces to create the campus reading environment and promote reading atmosphere. 6.The difficulties include the low willingness to reading, don’t know how to choose the suitable books to read, the frequent transfer of teachers breaks the plan off, the lack of manpower, the teachers are short of reading skill, and the lower participation of students’ parent to the school activities. 7.The teachers in the rural area schools need more budget, manpower and school support in order to improve the campus reading environment and facilities and plan study about reading.
