Among these ethnicities, the most miserable group is African American. In the time when human rights upsurge, more and more African American writers of African American adolescent literatures write for retaking their speaking rights. In the study, I analyze the reappearance of African American culture in Christopher Paul Curtis’s work,” Bud, not Buddy.” Discuss and study the images of name, Jazz music, and significance which appear over and over in the writing to understand the concepts they want to present are related to African American historical experience closely and show the unique characteristic in African American culture. Finding the real name back is the destination of African American travel. Name phenomena afford African American historical pain. Jazz music conveys African Americans’ eagerness and demands to the equality, freedom and satisfaction. The inheritance of Jazz music equals to inherit African American history and spiritual culture. Significance expresses the dissatisfaction to the social system at the time, conceals essence of wisdom of African American historical experience and shows the possibility that African American can own multi-culture. This explains farther that Curtis thinks the consciousness to the reappearance of African American ethnic culture are historical experience creates the characteristic of culture, freedom and equality are forever demands, the equipment of double consciousness is the characteristic of affirmation.
