Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺東大學 === 南島文化研究所 === 97 === Abstract Three museums in Taiwan were chosen in this project to understand the construction of the images of Austronesian” using exhibition contents. They are National Museum of Prehistory, Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, and National Museum of Natural Science. The results of this project reveal that different museums have different images of “Austronesians,” although they all use the name of “Austronesian” to present their exhibitions. Because there are variations between attribution and focuses among these museums, their exhibitions show different characteristics and strength. On the other hand, the Austronesian images present in these museums by cultural reconstructions differ from traditional perspectives of Austronesian cultures. Furthermore, these exhibitions provide more discussions than those from traditional ethnographies. Finally, they combine the goals to educate our society as well as to maintain the characters of each museum. Keyword : Austronesian , Culture represention , Museum exhibition
