The research was censused by questionnaires. Of the 485 questionnaires sent out, 452 were returned,446 were valid , The returning rate of valid questionnaires was 93%. This study has adopted SPSS for window 12.0 as the tool for statistical analysis, for census date use research method for example, t-test analysis, single factor variant analysis(One Way ANOVA) and Pearson correlated analysis and so on. The major conclusions of this study are as follows: 1.In the analysis of the “ job stress” in Taitung precinct , the “home life and work” is rated highest score as 78.0268%, followed by “role conflict” as 76.1995% ,“working time” as 75.112%, “workload” as 73.415%, and the last one is “ relationship between co-works ” as 60.2393% 2. In the analysis of the “organizational commitment ” in Taitung precinct , the “effort commitment” is rated highest score as 78.879%, followed by “retention commitment ” as 74.888% ,“identification commitment” as 72.1226%. 3. Studies show seniority , job functions ,marital status, with/without child have significantly difference on the perceptions of job stress in Taitung police precinct. 4. Studies show ages , seniority , educational background , job titles , job functions have significantly difference on the perceptions of organizational commitment in Taitung police precinct. 5. Studies show job stress and organizational commitment have significantly difference and low degree of negative correlation. Based on the study conclusions, the above recommendations were proposed for police officer improvement for reference, and will be promoted the organizational commitment to the police officer for their department section.
