| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 視覺傳達設計學系碩士班 === 97 === In the busy modern times, by interacting with plants, people can not only relax both their body and mind, but plants also have great benefit to people’s emotion and health. However, growing plants in interior space is not suitable to everyone, therefore this study focus on the effects of visual form of plant images on people’s psychological mood states, in order to promote the aesthetic of environment and contribute to people’s quality of life.
This study starts with probing into the visual forms of plant images through document survey, and then uses empirical survey to clarify the influence of different forms, ways of expression and colors of plant images to psychological mood states. Before the formal large investigation, there is an investigation in advance to review the objectivity and feasibility of the investigation and to provide the basis of reference and revision for the formal investigation. First, let people evaluate the forms and ways of expression of plant images, and meantime collect and analyze the adjectives that people wrote to describe the reading room. Second, according to the first investigation, the adjectives for evaluating and ideal forms of plant images are decided in the formal investigation; besides ways of expression, colors of plant images are being investigated in the simulate reading room. Finally, the study integrates results of first and second step of survey, unravels effective visual forms of plant images, including forms, ways of expression and colors. The suggestions list below:
1. Round, graphic symbology green plant images can let people feel pleased, relax and more concentrate. It also bring natural atmosphere indoor, therefore, it is the most suitable visual form of plant images in the reading room.
2. Among the ways of expression, “graphic symbology” is the most natural way. “abstract symbology” way can increase aggressive and dynamic feeling in a space. Among the colors, the color “green” is good to people’s mind, and it’s the best and the most favorite color. As a whole, “color” has great influence on psychological mood states and evaluation, thus we should consider the effect of colors to the psychological perception in interior space first when we are making a design plan.
3. In the reading room, “preference” is highly related to “pleased”, “relaxed”, “comfortable” and “natural”. It reveals that people still likes a reading room with natural feeling. “Pleased” and “comfortable” are crucial factors to the evaluation of a reading room, hence designers have to master and strengthen them well when designing similar spaces.
4. Except for the gender, every group has similar opinions to the samples, especially to the samples people likes and highly estimated. It reveals that there is common part among effective visual form of plant images. About gender difference, female are more sensitive and have higher acceptability to colors than male, therefore designers might consider female’s opinions first while making a design plant.
