The local and global contaminant leakages were quantified by measuring the concentration of SF6 tracer gas. It has been found that in the conventional exterior hood that the contaminant in front of the table was very vulnerable to external disturbances. From the gathered experimental results, the best operating condition was obtained and recommended for minimal contaminant leakage. It has been discovered that the conventional exterior hood can not isolate the contaminant because the suction flow rate is totally independent of the leakage.
