Add an acousto-optic modulator and an eletro-optic modulator of LiNbO3 were used to study the effects of fiber ring laser mode-locking characteristic. Q-switch has been achieved at frequency under 40 kHz. 620 ps pulse width mode locking is able to achieve at 3.3 MHz by an AO modulation. 172 ps pulse width mode locking is able to achieve at 2 GHz by an EO modulation. 53 ps pulse width mode locking can achieve by a wider band filter. In addition, colliding-pulse mode-locking has been found in which a 230 fs pulse width is able achieved.
