碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 藝術研究所 === 97 === Lingnan is an revolutionary and liberal sect of painting during a period of cultural inter-action and the vicissitude of times. The so-called Lingnan painting today is derived from the idea of eclectism established by the three painters of the Lingnan school,Gao Jian-fu, Gao Qi-Feng and Chen Shu-Ren.This thesis is divided into six chapters in order to study varied aspects of the paintings. The biographies of the artists,the evolution and characterish is of their painting styles and the theories behind the paintings of the Lingnan sect.This thesis will analyze the presentation of the paintings through studying the characteristics of the era in which the Lingnan sect formed.In addition ,it will also draw a comparison to traditional Chinese paintings to illuminate the effect and development of the Lingnan paintings in the history of Chinese painting.The six chapters to be discussed are as follows: I. The development and idealism of Lingnan painting. II. The Brief lives and friendship of the three painters. III. A comparison of the brush-stroke of the three artists. IV. A comparison of the calligraphy of the three artists. V. A comparison of the color usage of the three artists. VI.A comparison of the image compositions of the three artists. From chapter three to chapter six ,this thesis will analyze the artistic characteristics and the specific techniques of brush-strokes ,color usage and image composition of Gao Chien-Fu, Gao Qi-Feng, Chen Shu-Ren in detail.
