| Summary: | 碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 藝術研究所 === 97 === In view of the past development history of the Chinese painting as a whole, much of the works passed on from the forerunners mainly focuses on character, landscape and flower and birds. Such a painting school as the animal painting has never become the mainstream style in the field of painting and its works of art is the least. Not till the emergence of the Ling Nan Painting School does the animal painting begin to be thought highly of. The Ling Nan painters often use the animals as the language of art, emphasizing the particular style, expressed by the sketch painting. Besides, with the concept of “inclusion of the fine brush into sketching and the parallel emphasis of the color and ink painting”, they lead the animal painting to be more popular with recognition by the world.
The reason for the choice of the animal painting of the Ling Nan Painting School as the subject of the study rests with a kind of special sense on the one hand, in which the writer is touched by such a vivid and superb expression of the animal paintings, accomplished by the former painters of the Ling Nan Painting School. On the other hand, it is due to my concern with the animal ecology in nature. Hopefully, the presentation of the thesis can enable all walks of life to care about the importance of the animal conservancy. At usual times, I often work on the animals. As such, I anticipate by way of the presentation of this personal creation on such a subject matter, we can have a better understanding of the evolution of the animal painting for ages, as well as the significant relevance between “sketching”, “layout”, “pen application”, and “coloring” in the animal painting style of the Ling Nan Painting School and finally the audience can further realize the history of the animal painting style.
