Description
Summary:碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 青少年兒童福利研究所 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between mothers'' parenting stress and social support. It is a quantitative study and a questionnaire was used to collect the necessary data. The subjects of the study were 301 mothers, whose children studied in elementary schools in Taichung County. The questionnaire consists of the Parenting Stress Index, Social Support Scale and the demographic section. The data were processed by SPSS 12.0 and both descriptive and inferential statistics were applied. The statistics include frequency distribution, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The results are as followings: 1、 The two highest parenting stresses that mothers experienced are the “hyperactivity / distractibility” in child domain and the “marital relationship” in parent domain, respectively. 2、 The supportive support has the highest score for mothers and the informational support has the lowest scores. 3、 Ages of mothers, family’s monthly income, and marital relationships are significantly different on parenting stress. 4、 Mothers's employment status, family type, family monthly income, marital status, and marital relationship are significant different in social support. 5、 Parenting stress and social support are negatively significant correlated. According to the research findings, the following recommendations are proposed : 1、 To assist family to make their budget plan in order to effectively use their limited income. 2、 Educational authorities and the communities can provide multiple parenting education courses for mothers in the communities. 3、 Family workers could provide marital consultation resources, set up the social support networks and use multiple ways to pass on the welfare related information.
