碩士 === 國防大學政治作戰學院 === 新聞碩士班 === 97 === The purpose of this study is to explore the difference and citation of two phases before and after the year in 1999 using 156 master’s theses as research subjects. There are three parts in this research. First part, categorize nine topics to make comparison between the two different time period using approach of content analysis. Second part, interview former and current 4 directors to get details about the subjects. Third part, cite bibliographic references, the author, as a independent measurement unit to better understand the features of interdisciplinary courses and types of citation by using literature analysis. The results found as follows: 1. The results showed a significant difference on research type and research method of the master’s theses in the two different time period. 2. The all master’s theses in the second phase after year 1999 relate to national defense issue. 3. The topic of all master’s theses are mass media oriented. 4. The study of all master’s theses are for pragmatic purpose. 5. The study approach is focus on both quality and quantity trend. 6. Patterns in the study on the media, emphasize "print media" and "human research". 7. The most valuable subjects of the quoted group are " Mass Communication "、" Analysis of audience "、" Rhetorical Approach、Sign and Textual Study "、" Organization and Interpersonal Communication ". 8. Books, journals and theses are used as the citation type for reference 9. Most frequently cited authors are Communication scholars, also focus on the military, political and psychological areas.
