碩士 === 世新大學 === 觀光學研究所(含碩專班) === 97 === The construction planning of the Taipei Dome in Taiwan began in 1991. While operations of the dome could be seen as the scope of the service industry, this study analyzed the Dome operations from the modified elements of Lovelock's (1996) service management: human organizations, marketing promotion, business development and event management and attempted to determine key suceessful factors for future managenent planning of the Taipei Dome. This research mainly utlized case study of the Taipei Eastern Dome and the Tokyo Dome as well as literature review as data collection. The reseach result showed that the management planning for the future Taipei Dome should focus on the event management due to the weaker pro baseball market and frequent rainy weather in Taiwan. Therefore, the Taipei Dome was suggested to position itself as as a multi-functional venue hosting events, conventions, exhibitions and performing arts rather than a sport stadium. Therefore, the planning and development of the contruction for Taipei Dome should take various potential events markets into consideration in order to improve the utilization of the stadium in the future.
