In order to make product information easily obtained by customers, a digital signage playing machine with interactive information is essential. Many retailers utilize advertisement equipment to promote the sales and to enhance the communications with customers. However, the lack of interaction between promoting equipments and customers makes the strategy invalid. This research applies Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technique to a digital signage player to form a prototype interactive digital signage player. The main purpose of this paper is to embed RFID tags into the system to make information interaction reality. Customers could obtain relative product information immediately whenever they pick up specific product, such as advertisements and the necessary detailed product information. The developed interactive digital signage player system contains integrated software and hardware to improve the insufficiencies and drawbacks of the traditional advertisement equipment. This research had already successfully developed interactive digital signage player prototype equipment. In the research, some experiments were designed to evaluate customers’ interests about the interactive operation with the system. The results show that the system had successfully attracted customers’ aspiration of purchasing. Most customers represented that the system offers more convenient information than the traditional system.
