| Summary: | 碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 97 === This research looks into the relationship between project type and project success, and the influence of the project manager’s leadership style on that relationship. The current exploratory study aims to show that different dimensions of project success for different project types. Moreover, based on the person-organization fit theory, the study has hypothesized that a project will be more successful in case it is managed by one project manager whose leadership style fit this project type. A survey was conducted in Vietnam. A questionnaire, consisting of following parts were developed: (1) categorizing projects; (2) assessing success expectation and actual success of projects from several aspects; (3) identifying project managers’ leadership styles relevant to project types; and (4) judging the fit level between leadership style and project type. The study’s results have confirmed that dimension of project success was positively varied by type of project and the higher the fit level between project manager's leadership style and the project assigned to him or her, the greater project success.
