MSA (Measurement System Analysis) handbook is one of the five core manuals of ISO/TS16949. Many quality experts have paid much attention on the research of MSA. The total variation is mainly composed of part variation and gauge variation in the measurement system. In the study of measurement system, most of researches concentrate on gauge variation while.only a few scholars paid attention on part variation. The goal of the research is to compute the part variation.either there is interaction between parts and operators or not. The research modified the Classical GR&R method, Long Form method, Modified Classical GR&R method, and MBM method to make part variation estimator become unbiased. Finally, the research illustrates examples and simulates to compare the four methods for calculating part variance. It showed the modify estimator in the research is better than other three estimators which made the %GR&R index being not influenced by part variation bias. The achievement of the research can help enterprise get more accurate parts variation and total variation.
