Description
Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 97 === UWB (Ultra Wide Band) is a new technology of high speed wireless transmission. The operating spectrum is from 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz. The main application of a UWB system is wireless transmission in a range of 5 meters to 10 meters with up to 480 Mbps data rate, and the UWB system also has the characteristic of cheap, small size and low power. The multipath effect of channel transmission results in different time-delayed signals in the receiver side. This effect will be a challenge while designing a wireless UWB communication system. In this thesis, we design and implement a digital UWB channel emulator based on the IEEE 802.15.3 WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) channel model. The implemented UWB channel emulator can simulate the multipath effect and can be used as a test platform for UWB wireless transmission systems. In this thesis, we first employ the Matlab programming to simulate UWB channel model and develop an algorithm of UWB channel emulator. Then, we utilize the Verilog hardware description language (HDL) to design the emulator circuits. Finally, the proposed digital UWB channel emulator is implemented by Xilinx FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and its system performance is also verified.
