Besides, whether software is successful usually depends on the design of usability. However, for left -handed users, the design of usability nowadays is not completely suitable. In fact, most lefthanders get used to products that are built for right-handers, namely, few lefthanders are willing to change accommodated right-handed habits to adapt to left-handed settings. Taking the operation interface of FPS for example, function keys are usually set on the right side of a keyboard or a control panel; nevertheless, left-handed users may be unhandy to operate a keyboard based on a right-handed setting. Thus, the present research focuses on examining the settings of right-handed keyboards and finding out what operational problems will happen and appear when a left-hander plays a FPS game with right-handed device. In order to investigating and analyzing operational problems, there are some main sections in the study as follows. First, I explored left-hand players’ efficiency of the using mouse and keyboard. Second, I also investigated if the coordinate ability would affect a participant’s speed reaction. For the purpose of the study, I asked left-handed and right-handed participants to have 3 different types of action. They are active operation, passive operation and Asymmetric bimanual operation. The data gathered in the test was analyzed by T-test. And I also gathered some participants’ background information for Correlation Analysis. The data gathered in the examination were used to find out the performance when players play PC by using right-handed and left-handed setting. From the result, I discovered that left-handed users had lesser problems using two different settings than right-handed users had. And their operation performances in using left-handed and right-handed keyboard settings are about the same. In contrast, right-handed users had better performance in using right-handed setting. Besides, in the study I also found that participants’ background information has no connection between their operating performances. Summing up upper research results, we could see that left-handed examinees had nearly equal performances in using left-handed and right-handed keyboard settings. Even they didn’t have a chance to practice before having tests. And also we could see the background has no relation with operating performance both in right-handers and left-handers.
