Description
Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 社會學系 === 97 === Drawing out the approach of the theory of double movement from Karl Polanyi, the main purpose of this thesis aims to investigate the struggle between state and society in Taiwan. Taking the Pan-Purple Coalition as a social movement organization standing for the self-protection of society against the state representing the logic of market is the main argument. Therefore, there are two contentions in this thesis. First, I interpret the significant meanings of tax system in Taiwan, in order to understand the intimacy between state and market. This relation can also explain why the Pan-Purple Coalition appeared. Then, discuss the Pan-Purple Coalition in three social movement perspectives: political opportunity, mobilizing structure and framing process. As a social movement organization, how the Pan-Purple Coalition resist the state can show the self-protection of society.
