Summary:碩士 === 東海大學 === 企業管理學系碩士班 === 97 === As a consequence of the economy rearing towards changes in funds, technology, and intense knowledge, corporations must invest in new techniques as "weapon" to defend against competition, thus maintaining an advantage. According to past research conducted by scholars, this study uses Taiwan’s electronics and information technology industries as sample resource and proves the relationship between technological diversification and firm performance. Besides, organization resource and capacity are involved into the considered factors, and add absorptive capacity and strategic assets as moderating variables. This study uses data from 278 electronics and information technology firms in Taiwan for the period 2000-2006. The empirical results though panel data find out technological diversification serves to be beneficial to firm performance, which turned out to be a similar deduction to what the scholars had surmised. Furthermore, the moderating variables of this study, which were the organization's strategic assets and absorptive capacity, turned out to be detrimental to firm performance.
