碩士 === 東海大學 === 物理學系 === 97 === In this thesis , we show that a solid-state laser with a plano-concave cavity tightly pumped by diode laser is capable of generating the transverse mode that has multiple beam waists when the mirror separation is adjusted close to the degenerate resonator configuration. The features of these beam waists including location , orientation , and relative size can be determined in terms of the geometrical optics. The beam waists located outside the cavity is found for some degenerate resonator configuration and experimentally demonstrated in a diode-pumped Nd:YVO4 laser with a plano-concave resonator. The effects of pump spot size and pump power on the multiple beam waist mode are also studied.
