As ERP system is concerned, the operator is the employee, whose work is recording the original data, producing the specific papers and inquiring the basic data.However the mid-level or high-level managers are not satisfied with the data analysis shown on the out-of-date paper forms. The managers are limited to get the relevant motive information from the detailed data. They are unable to obtain the useful inside information even the outside information while making the decision. In order to make up the insufficiency of decision and analysis, the introduce of commercial intelligence can provide timely and accurate resource through OLAP based on the enterprise’s need. In such a diverse and competing market, the speedy dicision and efficiency are the keys for the enterprise to get the first place. Otherwise the managers would make a decision on their instinct according to the past experience, which result in the time waste and the unnecessary cost for the enterprise. Promoing the concept of commercial intelligence requires the whole company’s action, especially the support from the highest-level managers in order to search for the company’s own commercial intelligence. Therefore, more and more employees will enhance the knowledge of commercial intelligence and then realize its value. Taking the advantage of massive information hidden in each department and working procedure and integrating with the existing data systerm (ex. ERP) will create useful information for the managers to make decisions. OLAP’s accurate analysis and fast reaction will help the managers to make correct decision quickly and provide the best back-up. It becomes the tool for the manager to adjust the future business policies.
