Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 車輛工程系所 === 97 === Biodiesel has the harmful fuel characteristics while fossil diesel doesn’t have, including high acid value, too much organic compounds, low oxidation stability, and high pour point etc. Especially in high pour point, over high pour point causes biodiesel into crystal easily at low temperature. Thus poor liquidity makes diesel engine difficult to cold start. And over high pour point is not able to pass Nation’s Use Standard. Thus, for enhancing the fuel characteristics of biodiesel in low temperature, this study was operated with extremely low pour point of ethanol as the additives between waste oil methyl ester which has fewer saturated bonds, and palm oil methyl ester which has more saturated bonds. Because the fuel characteristics of ethanol are different from biodiesel, diesel engine performance must be influenced by blended with. Therefore, engine performance experiments indicated that blending with 10 % ethanol in those two biodiesels has no strong influence on engine performance and obtaining the decrease in smoke concentration and EGT. Nevertheless, BSFC, NOx and HC concentrations are in the increase trend.
