Description
Summary:碩士 === 大同大學 === 資訊工程學系(所) === 97 === USB is the most popular peripheral bus in the recent computer and consumer electronic industries. USB bus is used to connect many peripheral devices such as keyboards, mouses, flash drives, card readers, digital cameras, PDAs, smart phones, GPS receivers, etc. Its popularity is derived from "plug-and-play" and "easy-to-use". Today, USB is enjoying tremendous success in the marketplace, with most peripheral vendors around the global developing products to this specification. Meanwhile, the developments of the network technologies also progressively advance to provide more bandwidth and services. These network technologies consist of wired and wireless networks such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WiMax and 3G. Each network technology has its specific applicable field such as LAN, WAN, mobile network or interconnected network, Internet. This thesis intends to implement a virtualized bus named RemoteUSB (abbreviated as RUSB) that combines the USB and various network technologies. The RUSB architecture follows the USB criteria and takes advantage of the USB popularity and plenty of the device driver and user applications through the network media. In addition, the RUSB break through the limitation and scope of the USB. It also extends more applications than the intrinsic USB architecture.
