A Study of Effects among Catch & Release Behavior, Serious Leisure, Flow Experience and Place Attachment for Mountain Stream Recreational Anglers

碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 休閒運動研究所碩士班 === 97 === The purposes of this study were : 1.to explore the effects of serious leisure on flow experience. 2.to explore the effects of serious leisure on place attachment. 3.to examine the relationship between flow experience and place attachment among mountain stream recreational anglers. 4.to compare the differences on serious leisure trait, flow experience and place attachment between two groups of mountain stream recreational anglers with, or without catch & release behavior. 360 mountain stream recreational anglers were investigated with Serious Leisure Trait Scale, Flow Experience Scale, Place Attachment Scale as instruments. Data that collected were analyzed with stepwise regression analysis, Pearson correlation analysis and t-test. The results were as follows: 1. Serious leisure traits: identified benefit, perseverance, carrier effort and unique ethos were positive predictors to the aspects of flow experience: affect, skill & challenge and self-affirmation. 2. Serious leisure traits: identified benefit, perseverance, carrier effort and unique ethos were positive predictors to the aspects of place attachment: place identity and place dependent. 3. There was a significantly positive correlation between flow experience and place attachment. 4. There is a significantly difference on serious leisure, flow experience and place attachment between two groups of recreational mountain stream anglers with, or without catch & release behavior, and the anglers with catch & release behavior were more obvious. Explanations of the findings were offered and applications of the study were discussed. Finally, some suggestions for future research were identified and discussed, also the results are suggested to be useful references for the relevant unit while setting up managerial strategies of natural resources.
