| Summary: | 碩士 === 雲林科技大學 === 休閒運動研究所碩士班 === 97 === Taiwan is abundant in natural resources and well suitable to promote wildlife tourism. In recently year, wildlife tourism in Taiwan was more and more popular, especially in birding recreation. This study was assessed a behavioral model of birding recreationists with latent variables of birding involvement, environmental attitude, recreational experiences, and conservation commitment. The respondents were sampled via convenience sampling method at Sheding Nature Park and Manjhou of Keting National Park in October, 2008 and Baguashan of Changhua in March, 2009. Total of 726 usable questionnaires were collected. All the descriptive statistics were analyzed using SPSS 13.0 for Windows.Structural equation modeling was employed to examine the causal relationships between involvement, environemental attitude, recreational experiences, and conservation commitment applying the LISREL 8.70 for Windows, and all parpameters were estimated using maximum likelihood. Empirical findings indicated that birding involvement directly affects recreational experiences, environmental attitude directly affects recreational experiences, recreational experiences directly affects conservation commitment.
