It is a nature factor that Jhuoshuei River formed a large flood land period during November to March in the following year. The suspended particulate density that located in the Lunbei station rise hurriedly whenever the northeast monsoon approached. The density reached a high value as 952 μg m-3. The value was 10 times above the background numerical. It was also related by Jhuoshuei River bed. Addition to the huge amount of air pollution released by No.6 Naphtha Cracking Project in Yunling country result in the produce of the secondary aerosols possibly. It cause the air quality in local and nearby areas getting worse. See the research given above, the suspend particulate and dust are extremely remarkable to the air quality. This research investigate the characteristic of particles and the contributions of emission source to total suspend particulate(TSP) not only at the near of the stationary emission source ,but also the upwind area of Jhuoshuei River for comparing the No.6 Naphtha Cracking Project with the Jhuoshuei River. The samples were analyzed to identify TSP mass, water-soluble ions, carbonaceous contents and trace elements,and the chemical mass balance(CMB) for showing of source and quantity of total suspend particulate(TSP). In the present study showed that the No.6 Naphtha Cracking Project and the Jhuoshuei River main pollution finger print, Various survey stations affected by the industrial process, the following wind Department Taihsi, Mailiao high metal concentration (29.6 μg m-3, 22.1 μg m-3), the source may also be caused from heavy industry; However, at the Jhuoshuei River Department of the dacgeng of wind measurement stations affected by the southwest flow, the most significant dust Jhuoshuei River. Results of Meteorological data and CMB modeling showed that the main contributors to TSP mass at wind direction for northeaster, the following direction to north-easterly, Taihsi station, thus causes contribution proportion the industry system regulation to present the high value (58%), Mailiao (40%). However, contribution proportion the Jhuoshuei River is highest by the following wind Lunbei station, it accounts for the same day always to contribute 27%, few for dacgeng station (5%); when the average change in wind direction contrary to the phenomenon of concentration, showed that No.6 Naphtha Cracking Project and Jhuoshuei River raise the dust to come under the monsoon season influence, the impact on the surrounding areas well.
