The solubility parameters and dielectric constants of solvents have great influences on the conformations of Nafion in the catalyst solutions. In this study, we investigate the physical properties of Nafion/LiCl solutions by viscoelasticity analyzer (VE) and dynamic light scattering (DLS). Then, the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were used to investigate the morphology of thin films prepared from H2PtCl6/Nafion solutions after reduction of Pt+4 ions to Pt. Cyclic voltammetry(CV) technique was used to determine electrochemical active surface area of Pt catalysts after reduction of Pt+4 on carbon paper. The solvents are DMAc (N,N-dimethylacetamide), DMF (N,N-dimethylformamide), NMF (N-methylformamide), MeOH/water(methanol/water), EtOH/water (ethanol/water) and IPA/water(propanol/water).
