Description
Summary:碩士 === 元智大學 === 化學工程與材料科學學系 === 97 === The effects of the modified hyaluronic acid on the bounded water content, water retention, water content, and mechanical properties of poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) hydrogel are studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), water evaporation measurement, and mechanical tester. From FTIR analyses, it is obtained that the hyaluronic acid can be effectively grafted with the reactive monomer by the reaction conditions used. The modified hyaluronic acid is curable and drastically increases the water content and improves the water retention and mechanical properties of the hydrogel. The results of DSC indicate that the semibounded water and free water contents increase with the content of the modified hyaluronic acid. The water diffusion coefficient of the hydrogel with the modified hyaluronic acid is five times smaller than that of the unadded hydrogel. The use of a small amount of the modified hyaluronic acid would significantly improve the water retention of the hydrogel.
