Summary: | 碩士 === 國立勤益科技大學 === 冷凍空調系 === 98 === The cooling tower is a key product to the industry and it’s a necessary item to the heat transfer system (such as Air-conditioning system) for humans’ comfort. In order to reach high efficiency for the cooling tower, it requires good heat dissipation and large temperature difference between the inlet and outlet water flow (Δt), many modern techniques have been applied for these purpose. The shape and performance of a cooling tower has a trend toward smaller, light weight, artistic, and durable. This paper focuses on a fanless cooling tower which is currently more expensive and with low market share. A domestic brand fanless cooling tower installed in a regional hospital in central Taiwan is used to the cooling water loop of a central air conditioning system. The problems and difficulties encounted for this practical application of the original designed fanless cooling tower are investigated. Some solutions were suggested to solve the encounted problems. The potential of the improvement on the energy saving is discussed based on the data during the study. In addition, the performance specifications and the advantage of the product indicated by the manufacture are also examined. The results and experience from this study can be used as a reference for the installation and operation of the fanless cooling towers in the future.
