As constructivists stress, idea and identity play important roles in international relations. The core idea and the practice of Neo-realism or Neo-liberalism should not be able to help offer a solution to open up the deadlock across the Taiwan Strait. Therefore, the viewpoint of constructivism on international relations theory has been chosen to survey how idea and identity factors influence Taiwan’s security, and I try to figure out the influence of idea and identity in security research of Asian-Pacific Region. This article mainly adopts concepts of constructivism and I would like to integrate three scholars’ theories, including Alexander Wendt’s social constructivism, Barry Buzan’s securitization theory and Peter J. Katzenstein’s region constructivism. In Asia-Pacific, the U.S.-China relations not only restrict to Asia-Pacific countries’ policy output but also shape the security model of Asia-Pacific. Katzenstein assumed that world structure today consists of the interaction of the American Imperium and regional forces. According to that, the world can be divided into several regions, and Taiwan is located in the Asia-Pacific region. World System is constituted with the interactions of globalization, internationalization and regionalization. And the issue of security research is discussion based on Buzan’s "securitization process," whether any topics want to play a role in the security field must go through. In which combination of Wendt "identity to shape interests, the interests of dominant behavior" concept, and discuss about Taiwan''s security construction from the adjustment of identity. In other words, the success of Taiwan''s Securitization must be based on the United States, China and Taiwan, which is recognized within Taiwan''s securitization action. In doing so, based on three basis points we can establish Taiwan''s security model. Hseik-Wen Soong 宋學文 2010/05/ 學位論文 ; thesis 201 zh-TW |
