The power gating is the one of the reducing power consumption techniques. Generally, the power gating technique has every kind of research topics. In this view, it focuses on the surge current and wakeup time. In the beginning, it introduces the previous works and discusses the advantages and the disadvantages of each work, and then not only detailed studies the influence of surge current but also adds the consideration of intra-module. Finally, we choose the delay chain wakeup scheduling which is good on both issues as base architecture, and use the corner detector circuit to calibrate the wakeup scheduling. By this scheme, we can ensure that the surge current effects are acceptable and the wakeup time is within several clock cycles under any situation.
