| Summary: | 碩士 === 長庚大學 === 工商管理學系 === 98 === To quantify the process’s performance and provide a common standard of product quality for suppliers and customers, we use process capability indices. In most of process capability indices researches usually considered product with a single characteristic or multiple characteristics. In practical situations, however, the product in a process might be characterized by a linear function, called linear profile. The objective of this research is to develop the process capability indices for a process with products characterized by a linear profile. We use two methods to construct the specification limits of sample intercept and sample slope. And we propose the process capability indices for product with linear profiles. Our indices are easily to be calculated. Finally, we use a realistic example to demonstrate our approaches for evaluating the performance of a process when its product has a linear-profile characteristic.
