Description
Summary:碩士 === 長庚大學 === 資訊管理學系 === 98 === Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and its relative technique development are growing every day. However, WLAN is proven to have a high degree of security issues. Although, IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers) and Wi-Fi Alliance establish various security mechanisms such as WEP, WPA and 802.11i, WLAN’s security protection is still insufficient and it remains to be a great concern to the users. This research intends to design and implement the intrusion detection and intrusion prevention system for 802.11 a/b/g/n by using the misuse detection and anomaly detection methods. The system starts at the passive detection mode and makes further packet analysis in the WLAN to determine whether there are malicious intrusion and potential attack. When there is any abnormal situation happens, it then actively sends intrusion prevention frames to block or to confuse the attacker. The system is expected to decrease the probability of network crime and to reduce the malicious intrusion and potential attacks and thus enhances the WLAN security.
