The demands of high quality health care were increasing worldwide while medical device industry of Taiwan was benefited from such upward trend in the global economic developments. Meanwhile, corporates were required to adopt knoeledge and innovative technologies/products to keep their core competency under the vigorous global competive environment. Previous studies on the issue of measuring innovation varied prominently. Therefore, this study adopted the instrument developed specifically from medical device industry in Taiwan to examine the relational model among knowledge aqcuisitions, organizational innovation, and innovation performance. The study has collected questionnaire from 35 top managers or CEO of selective GMP medical device companies in Taiwan. The major findings were listed as: 1) Levels of organizational innovation and innovation performance were not relavant to type of organization; 2) Management innovation was significantly associated with innovation performance. However, the weight between management innovation and technology innovation was varied under different development stage; 3) Knowledge acquisition was associated with organizational innovation and innovation performance simultaneously; 4) Knowledge acquisition played as an extraneous role instead of moderator on the relationship between organizational innovation and innovation performance. This study has offered from the investigation to corporate managemers for future strategic management in organization innovation and examination of the performance under different development stages.
