In this case, a dataset, collected from a 600-bed regional hospital, is employed in this research. The patient information is classified by visiting source from emergency room and outpatients, providing outpatient and inpatient branches and its hospitalized days. This research uses statistical analysis, such as descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that, if we look at admissions, outpatient hospitalization has a greater impact on inpatient revenue. But on the contrary, it had the higher effect about inpatient revenue, which was admitted to the hospital from emergency room, if we considered the inpatient-days of sources, whether overall inpatient or ICU. To consider the inpatient-days, emergency room can play more important role to affect inpatient revenue. We suggest that managers of emergency department or hospital can increase the size of the budget to expend the emergency room, increase amount of medical staffs, improve the emergency equipment, to speed up the process of emergency medical treatment and deposition efficiently.
