Through the weight of evaluation factors by using AHP, the difference in demands for camera functions between different study groups was analyzed. The uncertainty of evaluation factors was reduced by using Fuzzy theory. Through this study, the highly demanded functions together with optimal alternatives from customers will be provided to the manufacture for product design. The preference of alternatives was ranked through Fuzzy TOPSIS with multi-choice goal programming. The price, pixel, and warranty were selected as the key factors to understand the best choice of digital cameras. The groups of study customers were classified into three categories based on the academic degrees: High school students, undergraduates and graduates. It is found that the high school students preferred to use cameras with wide-angle lens, whereas undergraduates and graduates emphasized the importance of the resolution. The optimal option was S5 Nikon CoolPix P6000 from all groups. When the price, pixel and warranty were also considered, the optimal options were S1 BenQ E1050 and S2 Canon Powershot G10. This study shows that multiple factors, in addition to the brand, will be considered by customers to choose a suitable camera. Liao,Chin-Nung 廖錦農 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 81 zh-TW
