Celebrex is a well-known selective Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor used in clinic to treat inflammation. In this study, we aimed to use limb ischemic model in rat to mimic a tourniquet-caused ischemic condition in skeletal muscle, and we tried to observe the ability of celebrex in inhibiting I/R casued inflammation. The results showed that celebrex can reduce I/R caused increase of IL-1β.It was also observed that I/R caused COX-2 protein was reduced as pretreating with celebrex accompanying by the regulation of P-JNK, P-P38 and PI3K.
