In chapter 2, a λ/2 U-shaped loop antenna operating at 1.575 GHz with preferred right-hand elliptical polarization was achieved and tested in field try. In chapter 3, coupling-fed loop antenna was introduced to implement Bluetooth 2.45 GHz application. It's resonant behavior is the same to prior design but lager bandwidth can be obtained. In chapter 4, an open-loop antenna having multi-mode resonances was proposed for multi-band operation in WiMAX 2.5/3.5/5.5GHz. The mainly resonant modes for WiMax operation were provided by a multi-branch metal and a parasitic element. In chapter 5, a novel multiple wideband antenna based on a combo concept of monopole and open loop was proposed for WiMAX application, across 2~6 GHz. In the last design, a WWAN antenna have been proposed for penta-band operating crossing 814MHz ~ 960MHz and 1710MHz ~ 2170MHz.
