Description
Summary:碩士 === 中原大學 === 室內設計研究所 === 98 === Color Universal design(CUD) is an design concept discussed the issue concerning about the color and communication, its main purpose is to enrich the color of social environment in order to improve the people whom with various color-abilities can recognizing color related information more easily, accurately and communication accessibly. The orientation sign in hospital provided spatial cognition and perspective of overall space which makes users feel confused easily, because of its functional complexity and special design. Therefore, how to delivery message through the concept of color universal design is one ofan important issue for the design field. In order to let all users with the highest visibility in the complex space, this literature aim to develop the principle of CUD with hospital’s orientation sign. Furthermore, it might provide designer a reference guide for their design works. The study test the level of visibility for orientation sign in the actual hospital by color blindness simulator software named as "UniColor Pro". Additionally, interviews also be held to find out and analysis the possible potential problems from the management and maintaining point of view in Taiwan’s hospital. The results show that the colore combination of red, green, yellow, brown and gray will make color-blinder recognition barrier easily, i.e. the color combination of figure/background was red/white and green/white color will lead to color-blinder in the condition of lower level of visibility. Also, the color combination of text/background was white/green will caused color-blind to have lower level of visibility. Accordingly, designers should pay attention to understand the demand of people with various color-abilities when they are doing their design work, and this work should be revised repeatedly and continuously as possible as they can to achieve the goal of CUD.
