Nanoporous materials tethering carboxylic indicators were prepared via direct-synthesis and co-condensation. Nanoporous materials with carboxylic indicators were carefully characterized by elemental analyses, inductively coupled plasma actomic emission spectrometer, solid state nuclear magnetic resonance, N2 adsorption/desorption isotherm, fouier transform infrared, ultraviolet and visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy. There are three kinds of bonded indicators were chosen and studied because of their unique properties. F-indicator emits green fluorescence, C-indicator emits green fluorescence and G-indicator adsorbs selectively heavy metals. Their characteristic fluorescence intensity variation and color transformation with various pH values in solution were monitored by photography, UV-VIS spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy. Nanoporous materials with indicators can fast respond with the acidity and basicity of solution because of their excellent hydrophilicities, porosities and surface areas. Moreover, these materials can be used as pH sensors by recycling and reduce the pollution of the environment, which improve disadvantages of traditional indicators.
